Peter Lipa je rodákom z Prešova. V rokoch 1962 - 1968 absolvoval štúdium na Stavebnej fakulte SVŠT a v rokoch 1975 - 1976 nadstavbové štúdium žurnalistiky v Bratislave.
Už počas štúdia pôsobil v Prešovskom amatérskom divadle, od roku 1963 hrával...
